I had a very bitter experience in my previous house with hard water.  Though our house was massive, luxurious and comfortable in all respects with sprawling garden, etc. the hard water the local municipality provided us made our life miserable, as it spoiled all my utensils and other important fittings in the bathrooms and the kitchen.  We were so sick of it all that we even toyed with the idea of disposing the house and settling else where the water was good.  If only filtered shower heads were known to us then!

Fortunately, my younger son got admission in a better school in a different city and we were compelled to leave the city we lived in.  Was I complaining, no way!  We looked for a trustworthy buyer and sold the house for a good price.  I made it a point to enlighten him about the hard water problem in the house and he said he would look into that aspect and solve it.  When we bought a new house in the new city, though the water was good enough, I made frantic inquiries about  shower filters, as I had heard of them by then and had them installed in the bath rooms. We’re happy campers now!
